Senator Mark Wall has welcomed the news from the Minister for Education that the school project is at an advanced stage of the tender process.
Speaking following the receipt of a parliamentary reply from his colleague Deputy Duncan Smith, Senator Wall confirmed that the Minister in his reply stated The Design Team has finalised its engagement with the preferred bidder and the preferred bidder is in the process of putting in place the required bond. It is anticipated that the supplementary tender report with the fully executed bond should be received in the Department shortly.
The reply went on to say that subject to no issues arising, it is envisaged that construction will commence in the 4th quarter of 2020 with a contract duration of approximately 20 months
Senator Wall concluded “This is a positive reply for the entire School community and the school action community. The entire community of Monasterevin just want and need this new school to be built. I look forward to the completion of this much needed school within the 20 month deadline outlined by the Minister”
