I have spoken many times in the Seanad about rural transport and want to welcome the introduction of the new 821 Rural link in Kildare South that will link Newbridge with the town of Naas and the train station there.
This new service will provide a 7 day local link public transport service to the villages of Kilmeage, Robertstown and Caragh for the first time, as well as an increased service for Milltown, Allenwood and Prosperous.
I have continued to raise the lack of public transport services to these villages over the last number of years, it was one of the biggest issues raised with me with local residents.
I want to thank the Kildare South Rural Link and its manager Alan Kerry. I would also like to thank the NTA for listen to locals and its public representatives.

I look forward to this services starting next Monday 17th October
